The Africa Group of the Political Tolerance and Truth Coalition (PTTC), USA, has protested what it described as deliberate attempts to malign the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

In a protest statement signed by its Africa regional president, Apostle (Dr) John Freeman, the group condemned allegations currently circulating against the former Kano State governor, insisting that the claims do not reflect his decades of dedicated service to Nigeria.

The coalition maintained that Kwankwaso’s record of service as governor, senator and minister clearly demonstrated commitment to national unity and development, stressing that he should not be subjected to what it termed political persecution.

According to the statement, Kwankwaso’s administration in Kano prioritised education, noting that many scholarships were awarded to less privileged students both within Nigeria and abroad.

The group said thousands of poor children benefited from tuition support, feeding, accommodation and structured mentorship programmes, which it said helped create opportunities for disadvantaged youths and offered them a pathway out of poverty.

The PTTC further highlighted that Kwankwaso’s government policies were anchored on youth empowerment, infrastructure development and social inclusion, describing his leadership as impactful and people-oriented.

The coalition called on Nigerians and the international community to uphold fairness, objectivity and respect for due process, warning against the dangers of spreading unverified accusations for political reasons.

“Public leaders must be judged based on confirmed facts and measurable impact, not by political persecution and intolerance,” the statement read.

The PTTC Africa Group reaffirmed its support for the former governor, declaring that it stands firmly in defence of Kwankwaso and what it described as his selfless service to the Nigerian people.

The group urged stakeholders to resist divisive narratives and instead focus on promoting political tolerance and truth in public discourse.
