Davido: Sophia Momodu’s Lawyers Vow Legal Action Over Alleged Intimidation Claims

The legal representatives of Sophia Momodu have issued a strong statement warning that they will pursue every lawful measure to resist any attempt to intimidate counsel or interfere with ongoing judicial proceedings, following recent social media controversy involving Afrobeats singer Davido.

In a press release signed by the management and board of partners at PUNUKA Attorneys and Solicitors, the law firm said the matter remains before a court of competent jurisdiction in Lagos State and should be determined solely based on evidence and legal process. The firm emphasised that no amount of public commentary would influence its professional conduct.

The statement came after Davido reportedly shared a photo of one of the lawyers on social media while addressing developments in his custody dispute with Momodu, sparking widespread debate online. The law firm described such actions as attempts that could expose legal practitioners to harassment outside the courtroom.

According to the lawyers, the administration of justice depends on fearless advocacy, and they warned that any conduct aimed at undermining legal processes would be met with consequences provided by law. They also called on members of the legal community, including the Nigerian Bar Association, to speak out against actions that could weaken professional ethics.
