As bandits abducted 20 passengers on Wawa-Luma Road in Borgu local government area of Niger State, Kwara State governor and chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has visited the state to forge common ground against bandits attacking villages in the two states.

Apart from the 27 killed in Konkonso, Pissa  and Tunga-Makeri over the weekend, the bandits yesterday abducted 20 passengers on Wawa-Luma Road in two Sharon buses and two Golf cars.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the incidents occurred yesterday morning when the abducted passengers were taken to Kainji Lake forest.

An eyewitness said that “the bandits operate freely and take our people like animals into the forest.”

Meanwhile, the Kwara State governor  has paid a  visit to Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago over the recent terrorist attacks in some communities under Borgu Emirate in Niger State, describing  the  attacks as unfortunate and heartbreaking.

He said  their nefarious activities had claimed many lives, destroyed livelihoods and rendered many homeless and assured that efforts would continue to be made in collaboration with relevant authorities to address the security challenges across the country.

Bago, while  appreciating  his Kwara State counterpart for the visit, pointed  out that it was heartwarming and a demonstration of togetherness based on the fact that the two states share a border around the Borgu Emirate and are both bedevilled by security challenges.
