‘Nigeria First’ Policy: Bold Move Or Empty Promise?

Rakiya did go to the school as she said she would to see the principal. I know this because she had called Altine and narrated to her what had unfolded from the visit. When I visited my friend’s boutique, according to Altine, the school principal had told Rakiya that other parents were also complaining about that particular teacher! And that in his view showed the teacher was incompetent, burdening the children with the homework on subjects they never studied in class and banking on their parents to do the teaching. How awful! This was only proof that work ethics in this country is dying and needs revamping. However, I was still not impressed by the principal. He is the head of school and ought to check on his teachers and the pupils once in a while. Also, how come the teacher got employed at such a school without having the basic knowledge of teaching children? I wondered. No doubt this was linked to some sentiments and ‘man know man’ attitude of some of our people.
