Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has described every opportunity to work with actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele as a blessing, praising her for her impact on his acting career.
Arukwe made the remarks during a recent interview with E-Splash, where he spoke about his experience working with the award-winning filmmaker.
The actor said Akindele regularly commends his acting skills and expresses appreciation for his performances whenever she contacts him for a movie role.
“Every time Funke Akindele calls me, it’s always a blessing. She’s always commending my acting skills, saying she loves my work, and then I felt like putting down her words on my CV,” he said.
Arukwe described Akindele as one of the best filmmakers and a great teacher, saying he considers every opportunity to work with her a privilege.
He, however, noted that Akindele has high expectations of actors and does not have much patience for those who are not adequately prepared for their roles.
“She’s one of the best filmmakers and a great teacher, but one thing about her is that she doesn’t have patience for those who don’t know how to act,” he said.
Arukwe added that while Akindele is willing to help actors improve, the demands of film production do not always allow her the time to teach acting from scratch on set.
The actor has worked with Akindele on several productions, including A Tribe Called Judah and Behind the Scenes.
