Premier League Title Race: Guardiola Downplays Arsenal’s Stumble, Focuses On Newcastle Clash

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has emphatically stated his indifference to Arsenal dropping points in the thrilling Premier League title race. The Gunners’ recent 2-2 draw away at Wolves has offered a glimmer of renewed hope to City, who are relentlessly pursuing the league leaders.

City now find themselves just five points adrift of Arsenal, with a crucial game in hand. Should Guardiola’s side secure victory in their remaining twelve fixtures, they would be crowned champions.

However, speaking to the press today, Guardiola was keen to redirect attention to City’s immediate challenge: their upcoming league encounter at home against Newcastle.

“I didn’t talk about the table, or our position or something like that. I could not care less. I didn’t talk about that for one second. Just Newcastle, Newcastle, Newcastle. If you ask me this question with two or three games left, I will have your answer. It’s 12 games left, it’s an eternity.”

Guardiola’s comments underscore his renowned focus on a game-by-game approach, a strategy that has served him well during his successful decade at the Etihad, where he has amassed six league titles. He stressed that with twelve games remaining, the title race is still wide open, and his priority remains solely on their next opponent.
