The Federal Ministry of Environment has expressed confidence in the leadership of the director-general of the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN), Zacharia Yaduma, in addressing Nigeria’s environmental challenges.
Minister of Environment, Balarabe Lawal, made the commendation during the recent budget defence presentation by the DG-FRIN.
In a statement issued by the DG’s spokesperson, Idara Umoh-Ido, the minister described Yaduma’s presentation as a demonstration of capacity, competence, and commitment to reposition the institute for greater impact.
According to the statement, the minister’s visit to the office of the Chairman, Senate Committee on Environment, Senator Olubiye Fadeyi, accompanied by the permanent secretary of the Ministry, Adam Kambari, further underscored the federal government’s confidence in Yaduma’s strategic vision.
The permanent secretary also commended the DG-FRIN for his contributions to advancing environmental sustainability efforts in the country.
The meeting is expected to yield positive outcomes for FRIN, strengthening its position as a national leader in environmental research, education, and innovation.
The statement added that the DG’s strategic vision and collaborative approach have been instrumental in driving progress on key environmental initiatives, further cementing FRIN’s reputation as a premier research institution in Nigeria.
