Nollywood actress, Eniola Badmus, has weighed in on losing weight and advised that planning to lose weight should be done from a place of love, not shame.

Reflecting on her previous body size and sharing a throwback photo of her previous body size and her current photos via her Instagram page, the Special Assistant for Social Events and Public Hearings to the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria, Tajudeen Abass, said that being fat is not the issue, but hating oneself is the problem.

She explained that size has no effect on one’s worth; she stated that an individual can achieve great things, no matter their size. She also added that any one who considers losing weight should make the decision out of love not shame.

Reminiscing on her weight loss journey, she shared that she has come to the realization that “transformation starts in the mind,” stating that it took conscious, consistent efforts for her to see results.

She also expressed her solidarity with those who are currently undergoing the weight loss journey, while extending her love to those who are not, stressing that they should keep walking with pride.

Additionally, Eniola Badmus appreciated everyone who has supported and celebrated her journey so far.

She wrote:
“I need you to hear this from me…being fat is not the problem. Hating yourself is. Doubting yourself is. Believing you’re not enough is. That’s the real struggle.

“Your size has never canceled your worth. You can be confident, successful, loved, admired, and unstoppable at any size. And if you choose to lose weight, let it be from a place of love….not shame. Let it be because you want to feel healthier, stronger, and happier… not because the world told you to shrink.

“The weight loss journey has taught me one powerful thing: transformation starts in the mind. I didn’t wake up one day different….I made small, consistent decisions. And guess what? You can too. If I can do it, you can absolutely do it.

“But listen carefully….even before the weight changes, you must love the body you’re in right now. Respect it. Thank it. Celebrate it. This body has carried you through so much. Don’t insult it.

“If you’re on a journey, be patient with yourself. If you’re not, still walk boldly. Confidence is not a size, it’s an attitude”.

The actress full of gratitude appreciated
everyone who has supported and celebrated her journey so far. “I see you. I appreciate you. Your love means everything to me. Thank you for growing with me.

“Let’s keep becoming better….not because we hate who we are, but because we love ourselves enough to evolve,” she added.

Eniola Badmus is undoubtedly a beacon of change, as the actress who was formerly plus-sized underwent a surgery to tone done her weight, and has not looked back since then.
