Janelle Monae, Vivica A. Fox & Sterling Brown Conflict In ‘Is God Is’

Singer and actress Janelle Monae stars alongside Vivica A. Fox and Sterling Brown in the Orion Pictures film ‘Is God Is’.

An avant-garde-ish dramatic action film with a Quentin Tarantino aesthetic, ‘Is God Is’ is the story of two sisters played by Kara Young and Mallori Johnson, whose mother (Vivica A. Fox) has one but not-so-simple instruction – “Kill your daddy”. Despite their father (Sterling Brown) setting their mother on fire and abandoning them, the irrational request becomes positively appealing as the trail to finding him reveals a cold-blooded monster.

‘Is God Is’ is Janelle Monáe’s latest movie, following her last appearance in the second instalment of the ‘Knives Out Mystery, Glass Onion’ (2022). Monae plays the girls’ stepmother, who isn’t aware of their existence.
