Rivers State governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has appointed Dr Dagogo Wokoma as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Barrister Sunny Ewule as Chief of Staff.

According to a statement signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, the two appointments take immediate effect.

The statement said Fubara will swear in the duo this Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Executive Council Chamber of Government House, Port Harcourt, by 2:00pm.

The statement read in part: “Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has appointed Dr Dagogo S.A. Wokoma as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Barrister Sunny Ewule as the Chief of Staff (COS). Both appointments are with immediate effect.

Wokoma and Ewule will succeed the former SSG, Dr. Benibo Anabraba, and former Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie, who were relieved of their positions following the dissolution of the state executive council by Fubara on February 12, 2026.

The development came a few days after President Bola Tinubu, for the third time, mediated in the political impasse between the governor and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike.
