Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa has announced the first batch of beneficiaries under his ICT Training Scholarship initiative, in what observers describe as a strategic move to strengthen youth capacity and digital skills development in Kogi East.
The beneficiaries, selected through a merit-based process, include two First Class graduates, Daniel Agama and Alih Lubabet Muhammed. Also shortlisted are four Second Class Upper graduates: Abubakar Amidu, Abdulrahman Ibrahim Adejoh, Khadizat Adams Nuhu and Omalle Enemona.
The Campaign Office stated that the scholarship program is designed to bridge the gap between academic excellence and practical digital competence, equipping participants with relevant ICT skills to compete in today’s technology-driven economy.
According to the Campaign Office, detailed information regarding onboarding procedures and the training schedule will be communicated directly to the shortlisted candidates in the coming days.
The initiative is part of Dr. Alfa’s broader youth empowerment agenda, which emphasizes structured capacity building, skills acquisition and long-term opportunity creation across communities in Kogi East.
