The 23-year-old son of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City (RHOSLC) actress Mary Cosby has died at the age of 23 following a medical emergency at his Utah home. The fire and paramedics responded to a call about a possible overdose; however, when they arrived, he was deceased.
The police confirmed Robert Cosby Jr.’s death. He died Monday, February 23, Salt Lake City Police Department public information officer Sgt. Greg Wilking confirmed to the media.
The Police remarked that the investigation into Cosby’s death remains active, disclosing that authorities responded to an overdose call on Monday and that the death has now been passed to the medical examiner’s office.
Mary Cosby has been a leading cast member on RHOSLC for many years, becoming part of the original cast’s bedrock. She had stepped back for the third season and returned afterwards.
The late Cosby Jr. has shown up many times on RHOSLC, including in a candid and emotional conversation he had with his mother over substance abuse issues. Mary has talked freely of her son’s struggles with drug addiction and mental health issues.
Earlier this month, Cosby Jr. was released from the Salt Lake County Metro Jail after serving two months for violating a pretrial protective order from his ex-wife Alexiana Smokoff’s family.
The deceased was ordered to 36 months of probation and 75 hours of community service as a condition for his release, according to court documents secured by the media.
