Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson Okojie has unveiled a new project aimed at guiding children through adolescence, marking her debut as an author.

The actress announced the release of her book, YOU-berty, written for children ages 10 to 13. The guide, she said, is designed to help young readers understand puberty “with clarity and confidence.”

Johnson, who had been noticeably absent from social media in recent months, explained that her time away was spent working on personal and professional growth.

“I’ve been a little quiet on here, but for good reason, I have been building, learning, and embracing new assignments,” she wrote on Instagram.

“I recently wrote a book on puberty for children ages 10-13, a heartfelt project designed to guide young minds through one of the most important transitions of their lives with clarity, confidence, and the right information.”

Beyond her literary debut, the actress revealed she is currently studying Functional Medicine at the Rockwell School of Holistic Medicine.

“I’m currently deep into my studies in Functional Medicine… The journey has been intense, but incredibly fulfilling. Expanding my knowledge in holistic health is not just academic; it is purpose-driven,” she stated.

Johnson also disclosed that she has signed on as an ambassador for a new brand, with details expected to be announced soon.

On her recent appointment as Special Adviser on Public Engagement and Advocacy to the Monday Okpebholo of Edo State, she described the role as a commitment to service and meaningful change.

“This assignment is one I hold with deep commitment to service, impact, and meaningful change,” she said.

Reflecting on balancing her career, public service, and family life, the actress added: “This season is stretching me, refining me, and reminding me that we can wear many hats and still wear them well to the glory of God.”

Johnson concluded by expressing optimism about her current chapter, describing it as one focused on growth, impact and showing up fully.
