Suspected bandits late Thursday night attacked Inkirmi Iri community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing one resident, injuring four others and abducting eleven villagers in a raid that further underscores persistent insecurity in the area.
The attack occurred at about 11:37 p.m. on February 27, 2026, with the assailants also rustling 21 cattle belonging to members of the community.
The deceased was identified as Bitrus Stephen, who was reportedly killed on the spot during the invasion.
Those abducted include Cletus Benjamin, Rahila Benjamin, Daniel Livinus, Hikima Alexander, Bomboi Andrawus, Jonathan Gideon, Maria Joshua, Joseph Obed, Babiyana Tanimu, Mary Boniface and Suzana Boniface.

According to him, four persons — Joshua Fidelis, Gabriel Madaki, Boniface John and Safiya Busa — sustained injuries during the assault. He disclosed that Fidelis was rushed to St. Gerard’s Hospital for treatment, while the others are receiving medical care at different health facilities.
Adoh said the bandits operated for hours without resistance, leaving casualties in their wake and abducting several villagers.
As of the time of filing this report, the Kaduna State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
The latest attack has heightened concerns over insecurity in Kajuru and other parts of Kaduna State, where communities continue to grapple with recurring cases of killings, kidnappings and cattle rustling.
