The Africa International Housing Show (AIHS) is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary by recognising long-standing partners whose contributions have supported housing development and sustainable urban growth across Africa.

Organisers of the housing and construction event said the milestone marks two decades of promoting dialogue, investment, innovation, and policy advocacy aimed at improving housing delivery on the continent.

In a statement issued yesterday in Abuja, the founder of AIHS and executive director of the Housing Development Advocacy Network, Festus Adebayo, said the anniversary presents an opportunity to appreciate organisations, institutions, and individuals that have consistently supported the platform since its inception.

According to him, the success and growth of the show over the years were driven largely by the sustained participation and collaboration of key stakeholders within the housing and construction ecosystem.

“Africa International Housing Show at 20 is not just a celebration of an event, but a celebration of enduring partnerships and collective commitment to addressing Africa’s housing challenges.

“We are proud of the journey so far and deeply grateful to all our partners who have stood by us through the years,” Adebayo said.

Over the past two decades, AIHS has evolved into one of Africa’s leading housing and construction platforms, bringing together developers, financial institutions, manufacturers, policymakers, and development partners to explore solutions to housing challenges and promote sector growth.

The organisers said the platform has also played a significant role in facilitating investment opportunities, strengthening industry collaboration, and promoting innovation within the built environment.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, AIHS will honour deserving partners at its 20th edition scheduled to hold from July 13 to July 18, 2026, in Abuja.

The recognition, according to the organisers, is intended to strengthen partnerships and encourage continued collaboration toward achieving inclusive and affordable housing solutions, particularly for low-income and informal workers across Africa.

AIHS reaffirmed its commitment to providing a platform that promotes innovation, drives policy reforms, and enhances access to decent housing, noting that partnerships remain critical to addressing the continent’s housing deficit and supporting sustainable urban development.

The event is expected to attract stakeholders from across Nigeria, Africa, and beyond, as industry players gather to reflect on past achievements and chart a course for the future of housing development on the continent.
