Nasarawa State governor, Abdullahi Sule, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the reappointment of Ahmed Abubakar Audi, as the commandant-general of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
President Tinubu recently approved the reappointment of the NSCDC boss for a new five-year term, effective from Friday, 27th February.
Audi was first appointed to the position in 2021 by the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
His initial five-year term ended last Friday as he participated in activities commemorating the 2026 World Civil Defence Day at the NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja.
In a statement on Sunday, Governor Sule said CG Audi’s reappointment is a testament to his sterling leadership, professionalism, and unflinching commitment to strengthening internal security architecture across our nation.
The governor noted that CG Audi’s continued leadership of the Corps will undoubtedly consolidate ongoing reforms and reposition the NSCDC for even greater service to our dear country.
“For us in Nasarawa State, this renewal is particularly gratifying. CG Audi has remained a shining ambassador of our state, exemplifying integrity, discipline, and patriotism in the discharge of his national assignment. His continued leadership of the Corps will undoubtedly consolidate ongoing reforms and reposition the NSCDC for even greater service to our dear country.
“We warmly congratulate CG Audi on this well-deserved renewal. I pray this new tenure usher in greater accomplishments and more impactful service to Nigeria.
“Mr. President, we acknowledge and appreciate your steadfast commitment to fairness and inclusivity in your appointments as well as strengthening our security institutions and promoting capable leadership in public service,” Governor Sule stated.
