One of Nigeria’s progressive political parties, Accord, has commenced its nationwide electronic registration and revalidation of membership beginning Tuesday, March 3, 2026, as part of its preparations for the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued by its National Chairman, Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem, the party announced that the exercise is open to all existing members, Nigerians in the diaspora, and new entrants seeking to join its fold. The leadership explained that the e-registration initiative is designed to strengthen the party’s membership base while aligning with evolving electoral requirements.

According to the statement, members who previously registered under the party’s former platform are also required to participate in the new process, as additional information is now being captured in line with updated regulations. Registration and revalidation are to be completed online through the party’s official portal.

Accord said the initiative complies with the new electoral governance framework, which mandates the creation of a digital membership register.

The party noted that the digital database will serve as the authentic record of members and will be used for accreditation during congresses, primaries, and national conventions ahead of the 2027 polls.

“The digital membership register will help ascertain genuine members of our great party and ensure credibility in our internal democratic processes,” the statement read.

To facilitate a seamless exercise, the national leadership has circulated comprehensive guidelines to party structures nationwide. Ward, Local Government, State, and Zonal executives have been directed to mobilize members for what the party described as an extensive membership drive.

The leadership stressed that time is of the essence and urged all stakeholders to work collaboratively to expand the party’s reach and consolidate its growing influence across the country.

Describing Accord as “the beautiful bride of Nigerian democracy” and “the fastest-growing political party in the country,” Mgbudem called on Nigerians to unite under the party’s platform in the quest to build a better, greater, and more just democratic nation.

The e-registration exercise marks a significant milestone in the party’s strategic roadmap as it positions itself for a competitive outing in the 2027 general elections.
