Belgium chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has held its monthly stakeholders’ meeting in Brussels, bringing together party leaders, members and stakeholders to review the progress of the party and discuss strategies for strengthening its activities in the diaspora.
In his welcome address, chairman of the chapter, Ambassador Prince G. Folowosele, described the party as more than a political platform, saying it represents a movement driven by courage, reform and determination to transform Nigeria. He noted that although members of the chapter are geographically distant from Nigeria, they remained politically connected and strategically relevant to the party’s growth and development.
The chairman reaffirmed support for the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, noting that the administration’s reforms were bold steps aimed at securing a stronger future for the country. He encouraged members to remain united, disciplined and committed to expanding the party’s influence while strengthening the structure of the APC Belgium chapter.
He further urged members to move beyond routine meetings by building visibility, influence and impact for the party in the diaspora. According to him, history remembers participants who contribute actively to national development, not spectators.
Vice chairman of the chapter, Hon. Remi Alowole Olaigbe, also offered key advice and suggestions aimed at strengthening the party and promoting unity among members going forward. He emphasised the importance of continued discipline, cooperation, and commitment among members while encouraging them to work collectively to address internal challenges that may hinder the chapter’s growth.
He urged President Tinubu and the national leadership of the APC to put clear modalities and structures in place that will formally recognize and strengthen the participation of party members in the diaspora.
According to him, Nigerians living abroad continue to contribute significantly to national development through investments, advocacy, and international engagement. Establishing an organized framework for APC chapters outside Nigeria, he noted, would help harness these contributions more effectively.
