The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has congratulated the newly sworn-in Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, describing the latter’s assumption of office as the beginning of winning the 2023 elections at all levels by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

LEADERSHIP reports that Adeleke was sworn-in earlier on Sunday morning at an event attended by the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar; the party’s national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu; ex-Senate President Bukola Saraki; PDP governors, and other party stalwarts from within the State and beyond.

The only PDP governor in the South-West zone before now, Seyi Makinde of the neighbouring Oyo State was conspicuously absent at the historic occasion and was yet to issue any congratulatory message to Adeleke.

However, Speaker Ogundoyin, who took to his verified Facebook page shortly after the swearing-in of the new governor, congratulated the people of the State and the PDP family over the feat.

Ogundoyin wrote: “I wish to use this medium to congratulate the good people of Osun State and indeed the entire PDP family on the auspicious inauguration of Sen Ademola Adeleke as the Governor of the State.
