A resident of the council,  Abubakar Malami Bagudo, confirmed the incident to our correspondent yesterday in Birnin Kebbi.

He said the bandits stormed the station at midnight on Sunday, shooting sporadically, following the arrest and detention of a suspected criminal who was allegedly one of their members, before they set it ablaze.

“After putting the station on fire, they went ahead and evacuated all the Weapons belonging to the station,” he said.

“They also kidnapped one of the senior police officers of the station, named Withheld, to an unknown destination “, the Source added.

When contacted, the chairman of the Bagudo council, Aliyu Sambo Zagga, confirmed the incident, but said he was yet to ascertain the extent of the damage.
