The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arraigned a self-acclaimed visa agent, Stanley Adediwura, before the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja for allegedly using false documents to obtain a United Kingdom visa.

Adediwura was docked before Justice Ismail Ijelu on a 20-count charge marked ID/27584C/2026, alongside two others, Olufemi Adewunmi and Oluwayemi Oyinkan, who are at large.

The ICPC alleged that Stanley conspired with the others to forge documents, including a corporate payslip and a bank statement purportedly issued by United Bank for Africa (UBA).

The prosecution, Yvonne Williams-Mbata, had told the court that the forged documents were aimed at deceiving UK Visas and Immigration into granting a visa.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The defence lawyer, Larry Olabampe, informed the judge that he had filed a bail application on behalf of his client, which had been served on the prosecution.

The ICPC opposed the application on the grounds that the defendant is a flight risk, having allegedly absconded in an earlier case.

After listening to the lawyers, Justice Ijelu granted the defendant bail in the sum of ten million naira, with other strict conditions.

The judge also ordered the defendant to surrender his passport to the court’s registrar and not to travel without the permission of the court.

He then adjourned the case to April 1 for the commencement of the trial.
