Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North Central), Dr. Abiodun Essiet, has said sustained dialogue and collaboration among security agencies, government institutions and communities are key to restoring lasting peace in Benue State.

Essiet spoke while concluding a working visit to the state during which she engaged with communities and stakeholders over a three-day period.

As part of the visit, she paid a courtesy call on the Tor Tiv and chairman of the Benue State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Majesty, Prof. James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse, to receive his insights on issues raised during her engagements across the state.

In his remarks, the Tor Tiv commended President Bola Tinubu for establishing the Office of Community Engagement as a channel for the federal government to directly feel the pulse of citizens, particularly at the grassroots.

He described the initiative as novel and innovative and appreciated the efforts and commitment of Essiet’s office in advancing the president’s vision.

While acknowledging challenges across various sectors, the monarch also noted the ongoing reforms of the administration, particularly in the security sector.
