First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has celebrated mothers in Nigeria, acknowledging their love, care and sacrifices in nurturing families and shaping society.
In a message to mark Mother’s Day, the first lady honoured mothers for the vital role they play in the lives of their children and families.
“Today, I honour and celebrate every mother across Nigeria. Your love, care and sacrifices do not go unnoticed,” she said.
She noted that while mothers often make significant sacrifices for their families, the quiet and everyday moments of care and devotion are what truly define motherhood.
“Beyond the big sacrifices, it is the small, quiet moments that truly define a mother’s love. On this special day, we carry those moments in our hearts and say thank you for the warmth and love you selflessly give,” the First Lady said.
Senator Tinubu described mothers who nurture, love and shape their families as heroes of the nation.
“To all mothers who nurture, love and shape our families, you are the heroes of our nation,” she said.
She urged mothers to continue to teach and guide children, passing down wisdom and strength that would benefit future generations.
“May we all live to enjoy the fruits of our labour over our children, grand-children and great grand-children,” she added.
The First Lady also wished mothers across Nigeria a happy Mother’s Day.
