Emanuele Belardi, the former Juventus goalkeeper, has lauded Super Eagles shot-stopper Maduka Okoye as an “excellent” goalkeeper. Belardi’s comments follow Okoye’s impressive display of saves during Udinese’s recent 1-0 Serie A defeat to Juventus.
The match saw Jeremie Boga secure a crucial 1-0 away victory for Juventus, marking his third consecutive Serie A goal.
Speaking with Calcio Udinese, Belardi commended the Nigerian international for his outstanding goalkeeping abilities, though he did suggest an area for improvement: “Okoye is now an excellent goalkeeper. He just needs to improve his game management, because sometimes he plays too instinctively. But he’s making progress. You can see that there’s a lot of work behind him and that he’s matured a lot.”
