The Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has clarified issues surrounding the attendance of some prominent sons of the state at a political meeting organised by the Strategic Partnership Group at the residence of Samuel Ortom, immediate past governor of Benue State and a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary of the APC in Benue, Daniel Ihomun, the party acknowledged that some individuals who attended the meeting included Dr Mathias Byuan, Executive Director (Housing Finance and Accounts) at the Federal Housing Authority, Abuja.
Others are; Chief Michael Kaase Aondokaa, SAN, former Attorney-General of the Federation; Barrister Pius Akutah, PhD, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council; and Chief Sebastian Hon, SAN.
The party explained that, for the avoidance of doubt, members of the APC in Benue State remain open to invitations from any political group, association or stakeholders who share a common commitment to the success of President Tinubu and the realisation of his Renewed Hope Agenda.
“The APC believes that national development and the consolidation of the gains already being recorded under President Tinubu’s leadership require broad-based support that transcends party lines. Consequently, we welcome the growing coalition of patriotic Nigerians and political groups who are keying into the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
According to the statement, the party also welcomed what it described as a growing coalition of patriotic Nigerians and political groups aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
It further commended the developmental strides of President Tinubu across key sectors of the Nigerian economy, noting that the APC in Benue State would continue to mobilise the people of the state, regardless of political affiliation, to support and vote for the president in the 2027 presidential election.
The statement added that the party remains confident that the Renewed Hope Agenda will continue to deliver meaningful progress and prosperity for Nigeria and its citizens.
“Our great party appreciates the ongoing developmental strides of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu across critical sectors of the Nigerian economy.”
