Ahead of the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has deployed more than 3,400 personnel across the state to ensure the safety of residents and the protection of critical infrastructure throughout the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
State Commandant, Mr. Mohammed Hassan-Agalama, disclosed this in a statement released on Tuesday by the Command’s public relations officer, Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi. He explained that the deployment is part of proactive measures aimed at guaranteeing peaceful and incident-free festivities throughout Kano.
According to Hassan-Agalama, NSCDC operatives have been strategically positioned at key locations including Eid prayer grounds, recreational centres, markets, motor parks, and other vulnerable public spaces to prevent security breaches.
The commandant emphasized that critical facilities such as power stations, water plants, and telecommunication masts would receive special protection. Intelligence and surveillance units have been reinforced, while rapid response teams are on high alert to handle emergencies immediately.
He also highlighted that the NSCDC would work closely with other security agencies to maintain law and order during the festive period.
Hassan-Agalama urged residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities to the nearest security agency, and advised parents and guardians to caution their children against engaging in unlawful behavior.
Reassuring the people of Kano of the corps’ commitment to safeguarding lives and property, he called on everyone to celebrate responsibly and peacefully.
