Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in the state, across Nigeria, and around the world on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
In a goodwill message issued yesterday by his media aide, Mukhtar Gidado, to mark the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan, the Governor expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah (SWT) for granting the faithful the strength, patience, and devotion required to observe the sacred fast.
He described Eid-el-Fitr as more than a celebration, noting that it represents a period of reflection, renewal, and recommitment to the core values of Islam.
Governor Mohammed urged citizens to sustain the virtues cultivated during Ramadan, including compassion, humility, generosity, discipline, and kindness towards others.
“True success lies not only in observing Ramadan but in embodying its teachings throughout the year,” the Governor stated, while encouraging continued support for the less privileged and vulnerable in society.
He also called on citizens to emulate the noble character of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), whose life exemplifies mercy, justice, and humility.
The governor commended religious leaders, scholars, and Imams for their dedication during Ramadan, acknowledging their vital role in promoting moral values, unity, and peaceful coexistence. He urged them to continue guiding society towards righteousness and harmony.
While reaffirming his administration’s commitment to unity, he highlighted Bauchi State’s tradition of peaceful coexistence among diverse ethnic and religious groups, calling on residents to promote tolerance, mutual respect, and collective responsibility.
On security, Governor Mohammed urged citizens to remain vigilant and collaborate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information. He assured residents of the government’s continued commitment to protecting lives and property, stressing that security is a shared responsibility.
As his administration approaches the end of its second term, the governor expressed appreciation to the people of Bauchi State for their trust and support. He reaffirmed his commitment to consolidating achievements and delivering more dividends of democracy, with emphasis on sustainable development, institutional strengthening, and improved welfare.
Acknowledging the current economic challenges, he assured citizens of ongoing efforts to ease hardship through targeted interventions, social protection programmes, and investments in key sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, and human capital development.
Governor Mohammed expressed optimism that the resilience and faith of the people would overcome present challenges, urging all to embrace hope and gratitude during the Eid celebrations.
He prayed for Allah’s acceptance of acts of worship, forgiveness of shortcomings, and the opportunity to witness many more Eid celebrations in peace, good health, and prosperity.
The governor also wished all citizens a joyful and peaceful Eid-el-Fitr, with continued blessings upon Bauchi State and Nigeria.
