Benue Council Lauds Army Deployment After Kwande Attacks

The Tiv Area Traditional Council in Benue State headed by the Tor Tiv, Prof James Ayatse, has lauded the deployment of an army battalion to communities in Kwande local government area recently attacked by herdsmen invaders.

The council, after an emergency meeting in Gboko, assured President Bola Tinubu of its support and called for diligent prosecution of the invaders as a deterrent.

It urged Governor Hyacinth Alia to expedite action n his efforts by pursuing all constitutional measures to put more control of the security architecture in local hands with a view to curbing insecurity in the state.

A communique signed by the secretary, Shinyi Tyozua, said the council promised to support the Governor Alia administration in its effort to sanitise the agricultural produce market to sustain livelihoods and improve public revenue.
