Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of providing intelligence support to Iran in a move he says is aimed at prolonging the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Speaking in his nightly address, Zelensky cited information from Ukraine’s military intelligence agency, the HUR, indicating that Moscow continues to assist Iranian authorities with intelligence, though he did not disclose specific details.
He also revealed that he had received a separate briefing from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), reinforcing concerns over Russia’s growing involvement beyond the war in Ukraine.
Zelensky stressed that Russia must not be allowed to exploit shifting geopolitical dynamics, including fluctuations in global oil prices, to strengthen its war effort.
He commended Ukrainian forces for what he described as precise strikes on Russian oil infrastructure—targets he noted are critical to funding Moscow’s military operations.
At the same time, the Ukrainian leader warned citizens of a potential large-scale Russian attack, citing intelligence assessments suggesting preparations for a major strike.
Ukraine has been resisting a full-scale invasion by Russia since February 2022, with the conflict continuing to shape broader global security tensions.
