An aggrieved aspirant for the position of national vice chairman South South of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ambassador Fubara Dagogo, has approached the Federal High Court to halt the party’s national convention scheduled for March 27, 2026.
Dagogo disclosed this while reacting on the issue with LEADERSHIP yesterday during a telephone discussion.
Dagogo, a director-general of the APC States Assembly Forum (ASAF), claimed he was denied the expression of interest and nomination forms by the APC Convention Committee despite meeting all requirements and paying the compulsory N5.1m.
“I have no other option than to seek legal redress as a foundation and passionate member of the party.”
In No: FHC/ABJ/C8/591/2026, sighted by our Correspondent, the aggrieved party man is seeking the court’s interpretation of APC Payment Acknowledgement Receipt No 26827, dated 13/03/2026, and the Adjusted APC 2026 Schedule of Nationwide Congresses National Convention.
The defendants in the suit include the APC, National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, incumbent National Vice Chairman Hon. Victor Giadom, and National Organising Secretary Suleiman Mohammed Argungu.
Among the things which Dagogo said he and his counsel Chief OAU Onyema are seeking for is praying the court to grant a perpetual injunction restraining the defendants from conducting the zonal congress for South-south APC on March 25, 2026.
Among other things which the plaintiff claimed he and his counsel are seeking for include, declaration that he is entitled to be issued with Expression of Interest and Nomination Form as an aspirant for the position of National Vice Chairman, South-south.
He maintained that his decision to seek legal redress is not just about his exclusion, saying, “This legal challenge is not just about one man’s exclusion; it is about defending the integrity of the APC and restoring the vision upon which it was founded.”
Effort to get the reaction of the national chairman of the party proved abortive as calls and texts messages sent to him were never replied at the time of filing this report.
