Popular Hausa-language drama series, Zabi Biyu, has returned for a second season on AREWA24, following the success of its debut outing.
The series, which airs on the Kano-based family entertainment and lifestyle television channel, gained widespread attention across Northern Nigeria for its compelling storytelling and strong cultural themes.
In its first season, Zabi Biyu resonated with audiences through its exploration of love, personal choices, and the realities of navigating modern relationships within a traditional setting. The show quickly built a loyal following, with viewers praising its relatable characters and authentic narrative.
Producers say the new season will expand on the storyline, introducing deeper character arcs and unexpected twists. The plot continues to follow the characters as they deal with the consequences of past decisions while confronting new challenges that test their values, ambitions, and relationships.
Speaking on the return of the series, Chief Executive Officer of AREWA24, Celestine Umeibe, described Zabi Biyu as a culturally relevant production tailored to its core audience.
“Zabi Biyu represents the kind of culturally resonant drama we are committed to delivering, especially for young audiences. The response to Season One was impressive, and we are excited to bring viewers an even more engaging second season,” he said.
He added that the programme also provides advertisers with an opportunity to connect with a dedicated and growing Hausa-speaking audience.
The second season is expected to further strengthen the show’s appeal among viewers within and beyond Northern Nigeria.
