World number two Jannik Sinner continued his dominance over Alexander Zverev to book a place in the Miami Open final.
The Italian eased to a 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) victory, extending his winning streak against Zverev to seven matches and setting up a showdown with Jiří Lehečka.
Sinner, who triumphed at Indian Wells earlier this month, is now targeting the prestigious ‘Sunshine Double’ — a feat last achieved by Roger Federer in 2017.
The reigning Wimbledon champion is also chasing a second Miami title in three years, having stretched his Masters 1000 winning run to 16 matches.
“It’s been an incredible swing,” Sinner said.
“Today was tough — he played great tennis — but I served well when it mattered.”
Earlier, Lehečka stormed into his maiden Masters 1000 final with a commanding 6-2, 6-2 victory over Arthur Fils.
“I’m very excited, but it’s still just sport,” the Czech said. “There are more important things happening in the world.”
