The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Osun State election, Bola Oyebamiji, has congratulated the newly elected national executives of the party, expressing confidence in their capacity to strengthen the ruling party and advance national development.

In a statement issued on Saturday in Osogbo, Oyebamiji commended the re-election of Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda as National Chairman and Senator Ajibola Basiru as National Secretary at the party’s 8th National Convention held in Abuja.

He described their return to office as a reflection of the confidence reposed in them by party members, noting that their continued leadership would sustain the party’s transformative agenda and reposition it for greater achievements.

The APC had on Friday conducted its 8th National Convention, during which members of the National Working Committee (NWC) were elected. Yilwatda and Basiru, a former senator who represented Osun Central, were returned unopposed.

Oyebamiji, a former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), said he was optimistic that the newly constituted NWC would take the party to greater heights through purposeful leadership and strategic direction.

He particularly described Basiru’s re-election as a welcome development, attributing it to his track record of quality service delivery and transformative leadership.

According to him, Basiru’s continued role as National Secretary is not only a pride to Osun State but also a significant gain for the South-West and the entire Southern region.

“I am delighted by the successful conduct of our party’s National Convention in Abuja, where the leadership of the party emerged seamlessly,” Oyebamiji said.
