British actor Sir Ben Kingsley is reprising a role he played in the 1995 mini-series ‘Moses’ and the 2007 animated film ‘The Ten Commandments’.
Kingsley will appear onscreen as Moses in the Wonder Project and Prime Video production titled ‘The Old Stories: Moses’, coming in spring 2026.
Based on the official trailer of the feature film released on YouTube, the Academy Award Winner will play the biblical character Moses, an exiled prince of Egypt, who, on encountering God in a burning bush, is sent to Pharaoh Ramses with the message to let the people of Israel go to worship Him in the desert.
Kingsley (Gandhi, Schindler’s List) first played the character in the 1995 miniseries ‘Moses’. He is joined by Emmy-nominated actor O.T Fagbenle (The Handmaid’s Tale, Black Widow), who plays Ramses.
A Quaker by faith, Kingsley has starred in a handful of biblical films, including the 1995 television miniseries ‘Joseph’, in which he plays Potiphar. He played the character Nun, the father of Joshua, in Ridley Scott’s 2014 film ‘Exodus: Gods and Kings’, and voices Caiaphas, the High Priest who orchestrates the trial and condemnation of Jesus to death.
