New Ekiti Police Chief Vows To Be Tough On Criminals

The new commissioner of police in Ekiti State, Mr Michael Falade, has resumed duties and declared that his administration would be friendly to law-abiding citizens but tough on crime and criminal elements.

Falade pledged to prioritise the security of the life and property of all the residents of the state.

The CP, who spoke during his maiden press conference held at the state command headquarters in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, said under his watch, there would be quicker responses to complaints.

He said his team would work with other sister agencies and relevant stakeholders to create an atmosphere where everyone can sleep peacefully and go about their lawful activities without fear or threat.

He said, “We will achieve this through intelligence-led policing, visibility policing, raids on criminal hideouts, bush combing operations, and other crime prevention measures.

“I am not unaware of the security challenges faced by some States bordering Ekiti State. Working with other security agencies, local security outfits, and relevant partners, I will ensure that our borders are well fortified against criminal infiltration.

“Of course, my set goals as mentioned above and more can only be achieved with citizens’ cooperation, collaboration, and support”.

Falade, who solicited a collective synergy and cooperation from the people of the state to enable a big win, said,” All hands must be on deck in the fight against crimes and criminality, and safety for all and sundry.

We must all come together to fight our common enemies – the criminal elements”.

He clearly assured the government and the good people of Ekiti State that he will serve them all with honesty, fairness, integrity, humility, and respect for citizens’ rights.

The new CP, who acknowledged the contributions of his predecessor, AIG Joseph Eribo, said he is committed to sustaining and building upon the legacy established during his tenure as Commissioner of Police.
