A 25-year-old mother, Mrs Blessing Enoh, has beheaded her 10-year-old daughter known as Miss Purity at Ugep town, Cross River State.
The crime is said to have been committed at Ibenda 2, Biko-Biko, Ugep, Yakurr LGA in Cross River State on Tuesday November 29,2022.
Findings revealed that the suspect told neighbours who saw her washing off her daughter’s blood from the machete used to commit the act that an invisible person made her to do it, stressing that she will be rewarded with N100,000, when she is done with the task.
The suspect is said to be cooling her feet at the police cell after arrest.
Confirming the arrest, the police public relations officer, PPRO, Cross River State Command, SP Irene Ugbo, stated that investigation is ongoing to ascertain the cause of the crime.
“She (the prime suspect), was arrested yesterday. We are still interrogating her, to know what led to the beheading of her own daughter, the woman is 25-year-old, and her name is Blessing Enoh.
“The name of her own daughter (that she beheaded) is Miss Purity, aged 10.”
The police spokesman further added that, “She’s already found guilty without being told, she will be charged to court. There must be something that led to her beheading the girl. Our Division in Ugep, were on patrol when they arrested the situation.”
Meanwhile, the corpse of the deceased is undergoing traditional rites for proper burial.
