President Bola Tinubu has felicitated with the management and staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) on its 75th anniversary, April 1, 2026.

In a statement by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the President extended greetings to the minister, management, and staff of the Ministry of Information and National Orientation, as well as to other sister agencies of the FRCN, on this auspicious occasion.

President Tinubu affirmed the dynamic, vibrant, and central influence of the FRCN in Nigeria and beyond, as Africa’s largest broadcast network with 47 FM stations and six zonal stations.

The President noted the role of the FRCN in enhancing development communication between leaders, governments and citizens for more than seven decades, serving as a reliable two-way traffic medium for information, education, and entertainment.

President Tinubu believes the broadcast station captures Nigeria’s history in many remarkable ways, from the colonial to post-colonial transitions, and maintains an archive that has served as a reference for leaders, students, and scholars.

The President extolled the radio station for consistently serving as a training ground and providing mentoring opportunities for some of the best broadcasters, producers and sound engineers on the continent.

As the FRCN turned 75, the President urged the station to continue fulfilling its core mandate in line with its slogan, “Uplifting the People and Uniting the Nation.”
