Popular Nigerian singer, Skales, has publicly called out socialite Cubana Chief Priest following controversial remarks made by the celebrity businessman regarding the recent deadly attacks in Jos, Plateau State.

The row began after Cubana Chief Priest suggested on social media that the violence, which claimed numerous lives, was a calculated attempt to “embarrass” President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 74th birthday. The socialite’s focus on political optics over the loss of human life immediately sparked a wave of anger across digital platforms.

Reacting to the post, Skales described the comments as “delusional” and “insensitive.” The Afrobeats star questioned how a public figure could prioritise the President’s reputation while families mourned their dead.

“I can’t believe you sat down and wrote this,” Skales wrote, addressing the socialite directly. “Lives were lost, and all you care about is the President being embarrassed. Where is your conscience? You have kids, don’t you?”

Many Nigerians backed the singer’s stance, arguing that linking a national tragedy to a political figure’s birthday celebration was inappropriate.

While Cubana Chief Priest also called on security agencies to do more, his theory about the “birthday plot” has continued to draw heavy backlash from celebrities and the general public alike, with many demanding more accountability in public discourse.
