Galatasaray have provided an encouraging update on Victor Osimhen, confirming the striker has commenced gym work as part of his rehabilitation.
The Nigerian forward underwent surgery two weeks ago after sustaining a broken arm during a UEFA Champions League encounter against Liverpool. Ahead of Galatasaray’s Turkish Super Lig clash with Trabzonspor this weekend, the club offered a glimpse into his recovery progress.
In a statement on their official website detailing the team’s recent training session, the Yellow and Reds noted Osimhen’s return to a key phase of his recovery.
“The training session began with dynamic warm-up exercises, followed by 8-on-2 passing drills in two groups. Under the direction of our head coach Okan Buruk, the training concluded with a four-team tournament after a possession-based practice session,” the club stated. “Victor Osimhen has resumed training in the gym following his treatment.”
The 27-year-old is anticipated to make his return to competitive action before the end of the month, as Galatasaray prepare to face Trabzonspor in their upcoming league fixture.
