2026 World Cup: NFF Accused Of “Fraudulent Petition” Against DR Congo

Prince Harrison Jalla, Chairman of Advocacy for Nigeria Football Reform Concepts, has leveled serious accusations against the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), alleging a “fraudulent petition” against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) following Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

In a press statement, Jalla claimed the NFF “concocted a fake petition” alleging dual citizenship among DR Congo players, submitted to FIFA. He asserts this was a deliberate attempt to “divert the attention of football-loving Nigerians and the Federal Government” from the NFF’s “administrative lapses, gross incompetence, and corruption.”

Jalla further stated that the petition was “intentionally filed out of time, sent to the wrong email address, and with no protest fees paid,” suggesting a clear intent to deceive.

He questioned the whereabouts of the petition, FIFA’s response, and any potential appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), noting that DR Congo has since qualified for the World Cup.

The statement criticizes the lack of accountability within Nigerian sports, highlighting that “nobody in the Assembly or the one-member Congress could raise a finger to question this shameless action.”

Jalla concluded by questioning the NFF’s continued hold on power.
