Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has confirmed that Enzo Fernandez will be omitted from the squad for the club’s next two matches following controversial comments about his future.
Fernandez will miss Chelsea’s FA Cup quarter-final clash against Port Vale, as well as their upcoming Premier League fixture against Manchester City.
The decision comes after the midfielder publicly hinted at a potential move to Real Madrid in the aftermath of Chelsea’s Champions League elimination by Paris Saint-Germain.
“I spoke with Enzo an hour ago. We’ve made a decision—he won’t be available for tomorrow’s game and he won’t be available for Manchester City,” Rosenior said during his pre-match press conference.
“It’s disappointing for Enzo to speak that way. I have no bad words to say about him, but a line was crossed in terms of our culture and what we want to build.”
The disciplinary move underlines Rosenior’s firm stance on maintaining dressing room standards, as Chelsea navigate a turbulent period both on and off the pitch.
