Spice Girls legend Melanie Brown, popularly known as Mel B, has sparked fresh conversation regarding the group’s legacy, stating that a definitive documentary may be stalled because not all members are ready to be “brutally honest.”
In a candid interview shared on Friday, the singer, known as “Scary Spice,” expressed her desire to tell the full, unvarnished story of the world’s biggest girl group. However, she suggested that the project faces hurdles because some of her bandmates, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, and Geri Halliwell, might be hesitant to revisit the more difficult aspects of their rise to fame.
“I want it to be a proper, tell-all documentary where we are all honest,” Mel B stated. “But not everyone in the group is honest enough to do that yet. If we’re going to do it, we have to do it properly. I don’t want a sugar-coated version.”
The singer, who has been a vocal advocate for a full-scale reunion tour, noted that while the bond between the “Fab Five” remains strong, their different approaches to privacy and public image continue to create friction over how their history should be documented.
This revelation comes amid heightened fan expectations for the group’s 30th anniversary debut celebration. Mel B’s comments suggest that while the appetite for Spice Girls content remains global, internal debates over “the truth” may keep the definitive film on the shelf for now.
