The nation’s top cyclists are currently undergoing rigorous preparations for the upcoming National Track Championships, a crucial stepping stone towards representing Nigeria at the 2026 CAC African Track and Para-Track Cycling Championships.
The continental event, set to be hosted in Abuja, promises to be a thrilling showcase of African cycling talent.
The Moshood Abiola National Stadium Velodrome will be the epicentre of the championships, which will unfold in two distinct phases. Para-Track events are scheduled to kick off from 9th to 11th May, followed by the main Track Championships from 13th to 17th May 2026.
This preparatory period is vital for assembling a formidable Team Nigeria. Athletes are undergoing structured performance assessments and competitive evaluations to ensure only the best are selected.
