The senator representing Benue North East senatorial district, Emmanuel Memga Udende, has urged armed youths in Sankera intermediate area in Benue State facing security challenges to embrace peace.
Udende who made the call at Anyagba, Tongov in Katsina-Ala local government area, when he visited the community to commiserate with the victims of herdsmen attacks in the area. Hecappealed to armed youths to embrace peace, love one another, and most importantly, always listen to elders.
In a statement issued by Senator Udende’s media aide, Jerry Orgem Iorngaem, he advised communities living in flashpoints to remain vigilant, as attackers were always planning to strike.
According to Udende, “It is better to stay at home than to stay in hideouts in the bushes without electricity, good water, and cold drinks; come back home and live freely with your brothers and sisters,,” he said.
The statement added that, “Udende donated cash, bags of parboiled rice, beans, and gari, among other items, including cartons of seasoning cubes, gallons of palm oil, and cartons of vegetable oil.”
Earlier, the District Head of Tiir, Chief Johnson Bwoi Shigba, while commending Senator Udende for the gesture, also requested for the provision of borehole and electricity transformer for the community.
