President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Abuja for Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to perform Umrah, an Islamic spiritual exercise involving a pilgrimage to the Holy City.
The visit will provide the President with an opportunity for spiritual reflection, devotion and prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability and continued progress.
While in Makkah, Tinubu will perform the religious rites associated with Umrah, seeking Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its people.
Umrah, often referred to as the lesser pilgrimage, is an Islamic religious exercise that can be undertaken at any time of the year, unlike the annual Hajj pilgrimage, which takes place during a specified period.
The President’s visit underscores the importance of spiritual devotion and prayer as he seeks divine guidance for the country’s affairs and the well-being of Nigerians.
Nigeria continues to pursue peace, national unity, stability and development, with the government focused on addressing the country’s challenges and improving the lives of its citizens.
