Former France and Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, has lauded his old club as the “most solid team” in this season’s Champions League.

However, Henry also voiced concerns that a key weakness could ultimately prevent the Gunners from lifting the coveted trophy.

Speaking on CBS Sport, Henry stated, “For me they are the most solid team in the Champions League.” He further highlighted Arsenal’s prowess from set-pieces, adding, “We also know about the set-pieces – people are crying about that but it’s a part of the game and a big advantage for Arsenal because they’re pretty good at it.”

Mikel Arteta’s side secured a vital 1-0 away victory against Sporting on Tuesday night in the first leg of their quarter-final clash, courtesy of a late Kai Havertz goal. Goalkeeper David Raya’s impressive performance ensured another clean sheet, bringing Arsenal’s Champions League goals conceded tally to a mere five in 11 fixtures this season. Domestically, they have also demonstrated defensive resilience, conceding just 22 goals in 31 Premier League matches.

Despite this defensive solidity, Henry’s implied reservations about an unstated weakness suggest a potential hurdle for Arsenal as they aim to go all the way in Europe’s premier club competition. The Gunners will be looking to build on their first-leg advantage when they host Sporting in the return leg on Wednesday
