Youth leaders and political stakeholders across Yobe State have reaffirmed their unwavering support for Governor Mai Mala Buni, pledging to strengthen party unity and mobilise grassroots support to sustain the state’s political stability and development trajectory.

The event, held on 9 April 2026 at the Timbab Continental Hotel, Damaturu, highlighted the commitment of the Yobe Leadership and Innovation Summit 2026, which drew participants from all 17 local government areas of the state.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the summit, the participants resolved to consolidate the political strength of the All Progressives Congress (APC) through coordinated youth-driven structures aimed at enhancing grassroots mobilisation and ensuring electoral success in future polls.

The summit commended Governor Buni for his inclusive leadership style, particularly his deliberate efforts to integrate young people into governance.

According to the participants, this approach has not only deepened participatory governance but also nurtured a new generation of leaders actively contributing to policy formulation and implementation.

They further noted that under Governor Buni’s administration, Yobe State has witnessed significant progress across key sectors, including infrastructure development, education, healthcare delivery, commerce, and post-conflict recovery initiatives.

These achievements, they said, have repositioned the state on a path of sustainable growth and resilience.

While applauding these strides, the stakeholders called for the expansion and institutionalisation of youth participation in governance at all levels, including local government councils, legislative bodies, and executive positions.

They emphasised that greater inclusion of young people is essential for continuity, leadership sustainability, and long-term development.

The summit also resolved to strengthen collaboration among youth leaders and political actors across the state, with a focus on building a united and disciplined network committed to advancing the administration’s vision and preserving its legacy.
