The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has decried lack of securitization of asset management in the country, saying the government must come up with robust policy to reverse the trend for the nation’s economic growth.
The monarch stated this at the first ever Lagos edition of the National Housing Fair, designed to promote national development through sustainable housing held in Lagos.
Oba Ogunwusi noted that asset management in Nigeria has not gotten to the level of securitization.
He said, ‘’Everything is always very difficult in this country. At the end of the day the young, upcoming ones are suffering from this issue.
He noted that the novel idea of Bstan Homes and Properties to create properties for not just the upper-class but also the lower class is a very fantastic effort.
Also speaking, the convener of the National Housing Fair, Dr. Becky Olubukola, noted that the fundamental idea behind the group is the passionate concern about the state of the nation, noting that the standard of living in the country is very low.
The Bstan Homes and Properties boss disclosed that this year’s event is dubbed ‘Property in a sachet: Gateway to a Better Life’, while explaining that in order to create livable and sustainable housing and community for the average citizens, the group divulged that a new housing initiative dubbed Property in a Sachet(P.I.S) is a pocket-friendly and very flexible system.
Olubukola added that the PIS initiative would improve the standard of living in Lagos and Africa at large, noting that the initiative would give people the opportunity to buy spread payment for as much as eight months without interest.
