Speaking during the certificate presentation, the administrative manager of the NGO, Collins Andrew said the initiative is geared towards supporting young women in the society.

He said the intention is to equip them with basic skills in technology, real estate, and social media. “Basic things they can use to help themselves pending when things can come up for them. It’s a program that starts with training, followed by internship and mentorship, after which they can proceed to go start helping themselves with what they’ve been equipped with.

“Our first batch were empowered in May, during the official launch of our Information related courses for the benefit of some selected participants. In September, we had the second batch who were trained in real estate and social media marketing and real estate.

Andrew said the foundation was launched in 2017, but the commencement of the courses was officially launched in May 2022.

About the selection process, he said; “We select them without trying to know anyone of them. What we do is send out information via Facebook ads to target young girls who are graduates and out of work who are interested. The first time we got about 50 applicants, and we slated them for interviews and only about four or five turned out.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Juliet Ozuligbo thanked the foundation for the initiative as well as the platform provided to boost the financial independence of women. She said, “So far, we have been well equipped, and growth will in turn, impact upon the nation’s growth and development

Juliet encouraged young people to focus on their goals. She said if they have the opportunity or platform to learn, they should be committed to learning what will better their future.
