The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspected robbers and recovered a Bajaj motorcycle alongside other exhibits in Idimu area of the state.
Our correspondent gathered that the suspects were apprehended in the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at about 2:00 a.m. during a routine patrol by police operatives along Car Wash Bus-Stop by First Bank.
The Command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi,, a Superintendent of Police disclosed this in a statement, noting that the suspects were intercepted while riding on a motorcycle.
She identified the suspects as Abdullahi Mustapha, 20; Salisu Sannusi, 30; and Jamiu Sahidu, 26.
According to her, “Upon search, the three suspects were arrested and a machete concealed in their clothing, army camouflage uniform, four mobile phones, one power bank, suspected to have been unlawfully taken from their owners, some squeezed Naira notes and a Bajaj motorcycle with registration number AKD 40 OM were recovered.”
Adebisi added that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had been involved in robbing unsuspecting members of the public before fleeing the scene.
“The Bajaj motorcycle is reportedly used for mobility in carrying out their criminal operations,” she said.
The police spokesperson stated that the suspects are currently in custody while investigations are ongoing.
She further noted that efforts are being intensified to conclude investigations and ensure that the suspects are charged to court accordingly.
Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Tijani Fatai, reiterated the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
Fatai said, “The Command remains resolute in its determination to curb criminal activities and ensure the safety of all residents.”
He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
The commissioner also encouraged residents to make use of the Command’s emergency lines, assuring Lagos residents that it would continue to intensify patrols and intelligence-driven operations to rid the state of criminal elements.
